- Joep de Groot has been the Chairman of the Board of health insurer CZ since May 1, 2019. In this role, he steers CZ’s strategic direction and actively drives innovations that contribute to sustainable, accessible, and affordable healthcare. His leadership is driven by the belief that both technological and social innovations are essential to fundamentally improve healthcare. Under his chairmanship, CZ promotes the adoption of data science, artificial intelligence, and e-health, while also fostering renewal in care delivery, collaboration, and patient-centered approaches. Joep began his career at DSM and later founded a strategic consultancy. From 2010 onward, he served as a board member at CbusineZ – CZ’s innovation and investment fund – where he supported numerous initiatives aimed at transforming healthcare. He studied Information and Knowledge Management at Tilburg University and is also active in the community, including as former chairman of the Oranje-Rood hockey club in Eindhoven.
